I just want to people “at the top” to use their common sense when making the decisions that affect me (a classroom teacher) and my students! And just an FYI: there is no budget, so that means no supplies for many schools. I am fortunate to work in a school with a very generous PTO. THEY are making sure our kids won’t do without.
I know quite a few young teachers. I think every one of them put together an Amazon wishlist this month. And they all had so many items that they could use in their classes. It’s so so sad that they are forced to look outside the Dept of Education and their school PTA for this. Don’t give them what they don’t need. It’s wasteful. The few who find this laughable have not walked a day in the shoes of a teacher. Your post is slightly tongue in cheek but in all sincerity appreciated! The general public has no idea how much we spend on basic supplies to clean our classroom to having materials for activities so our students are engaged. Our students have real needs which are not being addressed nationwide!
